On 8 October Armenia vs. Slovakia match took place at Republican Stadium in Yerevan within the frames of Euro 2012 qualifiers. Many forecasts were made about the result before the match. Slovakia players especially have mentioned that they intended to get three points in Yerevan. The teams' coaches showed more restraint and talking more respectful about the opponent.
Anyhow, Armenia National team carried out attacks already at the first minutes of the match committing Yura Mosvisyan to complete the attacks. Worth to mention that Movsisyan justified the hopes keeping the opponent in continuous exertion, making serious troubles for them and finally opening the match score at 23rd minute. Our guys had two more chances to score again just after the first goal but they missed them.
At the end of the first half Slovakia restored the score balance: during one of the attacks Hamsik missed the ball but Weiss managed to stay out of the defenders’ control and score a goal for his team making the match tally 1:1.
The start of the second half was very successful for the hosts. Manucharyan, who entered the field at the first minutes of the second half, got the ball from Mkhitaryan, got over the opponent defender and stroke at the goals. Mukha saved his team but Gevorg Ghazaryan was first to get the ball and ricocheted scoring the second goal for Armenia.
The guests tried to restore the match balance. Slovakia head coach made two substitutions at once but the till the end of the match the guests could get only a chance to score but Berezovski saved Armenia National team.
Instead of that our players continued attacking and made the match score 3:1 at the 89th minute of the match: Mkhitaryan got the ball from Ghazaryan and scored the third goal for Armenia.
The match ended 3:1 to Armenia.
At the other matches of our group Andorra lost against F.Y.R. of Macedonia 2:0 at out match and Russia won the difficult out match against Ireland 3:2.
