2011 Europe U-21 Championship, Switzerland vs. Armenia 2:1
On June 5 Armenia U-21 National Team played its first match within the frames of 2011 Europe U-21 Championship qualification round. Our team competed with Switzerland. The match took place at Bergholz Stadium in Wil. The host started the match very actively and already at the 20th minute of the first half the match score was 2:0. Eren Derdiyok scored at 17 minute and Shkelzen Gashi doubled the score at 20 minute. Switzerland vs. Armenia and Armenia vs. Turkey U-21 pre-match opinions
Artak Dashyan, midfielder (Banants FC) We all are going to leave for Switzerland with good mood intending to win the match. We got some idea about the rival. We know that they often use 4-4-2 model. We got some information about their leaders, too. Turkey also has a good team but our guys proved last year that we can defeat them. It is hard to compare these two teams. Armenia U-21 National Team leaves for Switzerland
Armenia U-21 National Team continues preparing for 2011 Europe U-21 Championship qualification round Switzerland vs. Armenia and Armenia vs. Turkey matches taking place on June 5 and 9. After leaving for Switzerland the team hold the last training on June 3. All 23 players took part in the training. At the meeting before the training head coach Flemming Serritslev announced the team’s captain name: Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
