Estonia vs. Armenia pre-match opinions

Levon Pachajyan, midfielder (Fredrikstad, Norway)

I think the result of the first match against Estonia is positive on one hand and negative on the other. Let me explain why. We all surely expected victory before the match started but it turns out that we could restore the score balance at the end of the match only. Anyway, I think that the bad result is our fault. We didn’t show all our abilities, couldn’t play combined. I know we are going to have a difficult away match and moreover, the field is not good, but despite everything I believe in our victory. In my opinion we will play much better then we did in Yerevan. I can say that Estonia didn’t make perfect impression at the first match and because of our unsuccessful performance only they could gain a point in Yerevan.

Edgar Manucharyan, forward (Ajax, Holland)

We didn’t play so bad at the first match against Estonia and I think that the match result is not proper for the game. We missed some real chances to score and unfortunately couldn’t celebrate our first victory in World Cup 2010 Qualification round. I am very sorry we couldn’t gladden our supporters but I hope we will draw right conclusions and play much better tomorrow. We came to Tallinn only for victory. Every player must enter the field of play with one purpose only: to win.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, midfielder (Pyunik)

I consider the first match against Estonia as unsatisfactory. We could win and because of our faults only the match ended in draw. I can even say that we play bad and it’s very difficult to gain victory the way we played. We too often abused individual play. Estonia National Team was not perfect. Sure, all expected we would win but as everyone knows this is football and the victory goes to those who is stronger at the moment. Our team had proved it at several matches against strong rivals. We will try not to make the same mistakes we made at the first match. We came to Estonia to win.
