2011 Europe U-21 Championship, Switzerland vs. Armenia 2:1

On June 5 Armenia U-21 National Team played its first match within the frames of 2011 Europe U-21 Championship qualification round. Our team competed with Switzerland. The match took place at Bergholz Stadium in Wil. The host started the match very actively and already at the 20th minute of the first half the match score was 2:0. Eren Derdiyok scored at 17 minute and Shkelzen Gashi doubled the score at 20 minute. Our team managed to organize several dangerous attacks but they didn’t succeed in changing the match score at the first half of the match.
Our guys were more active at the second half. At 83th minute Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored and diminished the match score difference. At 87th minute Mihran Manasyan was showed a red card and Armenia U-21 National Team had to continue the match with 10 players.
The match ended 2:1 in favor of Switzerland U-21 National Team.

Let us remind that on June 9 Armenia U-21 National Team plays its second match within the frames of 2011 Europe U-21 Championship qualification round. Our team will compete with Turkey U-21 National Team this time. The match will take place at Republican Stadium in Yerevan at 20:00.
