Euro 2011: IRELAND 1-2 ARMENIA

Armenia U-21 National team at the head of Flemming Serritslev won the match against Ireland within the frames of Euro 2011 qualifiers. The match took place in Dublin and ended 2:1 to Armenia. Worth to mention that Ireland lost the away match 4:1 against Armenia last year and Ireland head coach Don Givens had made 6 changes in comparison with the match played in Yerevan. Having advantage over the opponent and attacking during the whole match Ireland players couldn’t prevent counter-attacks: Levon Hayrapetyan entered the opponent’s penalty area at 34th minute and scored the first goal for Armenia. Gevorg Ghazaryan doubled the mach score 6 minutes later.

Ireland continued attacking after the half time. As the result of the tough game Armenia midfielder Masis Voskanyan got second yellow card and left the field at 78th minute. Two minutes later newcomer of Ireland team Ian Daily managed to score and shortened the match tally difference. The hosts had several chances to score at the end of the match but they couldn’t manage it.
