FFA representatives awarded by IDHEAP football management certificate

In 2010 UEFA in cooperation with the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration at the University of Lausanne (IDHEAP) has launched the ten-month program called UEFA Certificate in Football Management (UEFA CFM).
The UEFA CFM is the foundation course of the professional development programs initiated by UEFA and it is aimed at enhancing and formalizing the practical knowledge already acquired by the middle-management staff of the European national football associations.
The program composed of one online introductory module, three two-day face-to-face seminars and six four-week online learning modules, was aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge of sport organization and management, enable them to network with colleagues from other NAs across Europe and, in case of successful completing the program, enable participants to obtain a certificate in football management awarded by IDHEAP.
The program covers the main areas of management within a national football association: the organization of football, strategic and performance management, operational management, event management, marketing and sponsorship, internal and external communication.
Through careful selection of numerous applications from all 53 NAs (each NA could introduce maximum 2 candidates), the UEFA and IDHEAP have selected 33 participants from Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Belarus, Cyprus, Estonia, England, Macedonia, Georgia, Hungary, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Northern Ireland, Poland, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales and UEFA itself.
The FFA represented by the Heads of International and Licensing Departments Satenik Amiranyan and Arno Sargyan, as well as former FFA officer Monika Mkhitaryan, working in the UEFA since 2009, made the Armenian “delegation” at the CFM the biggest.
The UEFA CFM officially launched on 6 September 2010, has come to its logical end on 9 and 10 June 2011 with final exam and award ceremony. Our representatives have successfully passed their exams obtaining certificates with honour (Cum Laude).
The award ceremony conducted by UEFA Deputy General Mr. Theodor Theodoridis and the IDHEAP Director, Professor Jean-Loup Chappelet, has taken place at the UEFA HQ. The certificates have been granted to participants by Professor Chappelet and Mr. Thomas Junod, UEFA’s Universities Coordinator.
The successful graduates of the UEFA CFM have been awarded with a right to pursue their sports management studies with a diploma in football management (UEFA DFM), which will start in September 2011 and last till May 2012. The FFA will be represented by Satenik Amiranyan and Arno Sargsyan, whose decision supported by the FFA Top Management, will allow them to master the knowledge and skills obtained via working experience in the FFA and a huge theoretical basement made by the UEFA CFM.
